Vasquez Mustangs (Acton, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals (Canyon Country, CA), 42-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Vasquez upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Silver Valley (Yermo, CA) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Friday, December 2. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Silver Valley lost 43-32 in their recent non-league bout against Desert Christian (Lancaster, CA)

Next up, the Cardinals play the St. Monica Academy Crusaders (Montrose, CA) in a Heritage bout, on Monday, December 5. Santa Clarita Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Crusaders come into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 32-16 league loss to Faith Baptist (Canoga Park, CA).
