North Carolina High School Basketball - East Burke nudges Draughn

December 12, 2023: Valdese, NC 28690

In Tuesday's non-league outing, the East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) basketball squad edged the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), by a count of 69-63.

The Cavaliers (2-5) will now prepare for their outing against Maiden (Maiden, NC). The Blue Devils go into the 2A Catawba Valley outing with a 5-2 record. In their last outing, Maiden held off Burns (Lawndale, NC), 62-49, in a non-league outing.

The Wildcats now hold a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Owen for a 1A/2A Western Highlands outing on Friday, December 15. Draughn will clash with a Warhorses squad coming off a 72-50 non-league loss to Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 1-6.
