North Carolina High School Basketball - East Burke trounces Draughn

December 12, 2023: Valdese, NC 28690

The East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) basketball crushed the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), 80-46 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Cavaliers (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Maiden (Maiden, NC). The Blue Devils go into the 2A Catawba Valley test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Maiden walloped Burns (Lawndale, NC), 56-16, in a non-league test.

The Wildcats now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Owen for a 1A/2A Western Highlands test on Friday, December 15. Draughn will encounter a Warhorses squad coming off a 67-66 non-league loss to Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 1-6.
