North Carolina High School Basketball - Union Pines overwhelms Lee County

December 12, 2023: Sanford, NC 27330

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) and the host Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), saw Union Pines's basketball team trounce Lee County by a tally of 67-36.

The Vikings now possess a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northwood for a non-league battle on Wednesday, December 20.

The Yellow Jackets (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Hoke County (Raeford, NC). The Bucks come into the 3A/4A Sandhills battle with a 1-5 record. In their last battle, Hoke County was overwhelmed by Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC), 56-26, in a non-league battle.
