Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 31-18 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hickory upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Red Tornadoes travel to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 13. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 1-4.

Next up, the Red Devils play the West Caldwell Warriors (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Newton-Conover will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
