In Thursday's league contest, the host Pine Island Panthers basketball team scored a good 60-41 triumph over the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars.

The Panthers (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Cannon Falls (Cannon Falls, MN). The Bombers go into the AA Section 1 contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, Cannon Falls was topped by Kasson-Mantorville (Kasson, MN), 63-42, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Triton Cobras (Dodge Center, MN) in a AA Section 1 contest, on Monday, December 16. Zumbrota-Mazeppa will attempt to better on its 1-8 season record. The Cobras go into the contest with a 7-0 record after their 78-37 non-league win over United South Central (Wells, MN).
