The Monticello Mustangs basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the visiting Waynesboro Little Giants to 53 in the Mustangs non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fluvanna County for a non-league contest on Friday, December 15. Monticello will battle a Flying Flucos team coming off a 51-48 non-league loss to Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA). The Flying Flucos record now stands at 3-1.

The Little Giants (1-3) will now prepare for their contest against Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, VA). The Blue Streaks come into the non-league contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, Harrisonburg edged East Rockingham (Elkton, VA), 44-37, in a non-league contest.
