The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) and the visiting West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS), observed New Hope's basketball team overwhelm West Point by a score of 63-27.

The Trojans (7-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Warriors come into the 5A Region 1 challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Pontotoc trounced Lafayette (Oxford, MS), 73-40, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Green Wave battle the Corinth Warriors (Corinth, MS) in a 5A Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. West Point will attempt to improve on its 0-12 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 50-28 league loss to Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS).
