In Thursday's non-league test, the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) basketball squad trounced the visiting West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS), by a final score of 53-18.

Next, the Trojans clash with the Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) in a non-league test, on Friday, February 7. New Hope will attempt to upgrade on its 16-4 season record.

The Green Wave (10-18) will now prepare for their test against Lafayette (Oxford, MS). The Commodores come into the 5A Region 1 test with a 15-12 record. In their last test, Lafayette was overwhelmed by Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS), 62-32, in a league test.
