The Galax Maroon Tide basketball team (Galax, VA), was nudged 60-56 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA)

The Cavaliers now possess a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Chiswell for a non-league battle on Friday, December 16. Carroll County will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 81-47 league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 4-0.

The Maroon Tide (0-3) will now prepare for their battle against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears come into the Mountain Empire battle with a 5-2 record. In their last battle, Bland County was nudged by Auburn (Riner, VA), 78-46, in a league battle.
