Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Lamar Raiders (Meridian, MS), 72-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Simpson Academy upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Cougars host Jackson Prep (Jackson, MS) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Friday, December 15. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 10-1.

Next up, the Raiders play the Starkville Academy Volunteers (Starkville, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Lamar will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record.
