Johnston Dragons (Johnston, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Valley Tigers (Elgin, IA), 67-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Johnston upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Dragons host Hopkins (Minnetonka, MN) to play the Royals in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Royals go into the bout with a record of 6-1. Hopkins won 73-38 in their recent non-league bout against Eastview (Apple Valley, MN)

Next up, the Tigers play the Southeast Polk Rams (Pleasant Hill, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 65-36 league win over Urbandale (Urbandale, IA).
