The Columbia Eagles basketball team (Columbia, IL), was toppled 61-41 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL)
The Cougars now possess a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freeburg for a Cahokia - Mississippi battle on Monday, December 19. Breese Central will confront a Midgets team coming off a 54-31 league win over Salem (Salem, IL). The Midgets record now stands at 7-4.
The Eagles (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against Chester (Chester, IL). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league battle with a 5-6 record. In their last battle, Chester beat Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL), 43-32, in a non-league battle.
