Virginia High School Basketball - Staunton River can't hold off Glenvar

The Glenvar Highlanders basketball team scored 45 points and held the host Staunton River Golden Eagles to 42 in the Highlanders non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Highlanders now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northside for a non-league contest on Monday, December 19. Glenvar will battle a Vikings team coming off a 61-58 non-league loss to Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA). The Vikings record now stands at 3-3.

The Golden Eagles (0-5) will now prepare for their contest against Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Minutemen enter the non-league contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Liberty nudged Brookville (Lynchburg, VA), 57-18, in a league contest.
