In Thursday's non-league outing, the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) basketball squad edged the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), by a margin of 41-38.
The Spartans (7-2) will now prepare for their outing against Maiden (Maiden, NC). The Blue Devils go into the non-league outing with a 2-5 record. In their last outing, Maiden was tipped by East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC), 69-19, in a league outing.
The Titans now own a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Avery County for a non-league outing on Tuesday, December 20. McDowell will clash with a Vikings squad coming off a 53-50 league loss to Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 1-8.
