Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) and the host Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS), saw Pontotoc's basketball squad overcome Lafayette by a tally of 74-63.

With the victory, Pontotoc improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Warriors host Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 16. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 5-5.

Next up, the Commodores confront the Clarksdale Wildcats (Clarksdale, MS) in a 5A Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. Lafayette will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 2-9 record after their 71-53 league loss to Corinth (Corinth, MS).
