Mansfield Tigers (Mansfield, AR) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Western Yell County Wolverines (Havana, AR), 67-64 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mansfield upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host Lavaca (Lavaca, AR) to play the Golden Arrows in a 2A Region 4 bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Golden Arrows come into the bout with a record of 9-5. Lavaca won 63-30 in their recent non-league bout against Paris (Paris, AR)

Next up, the Wolverines play the Future School of Fort Smith Rockets (Fort Smith, AR) in a 2A Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Western Yell County will attempt to upgrade on its 13-9 season record.
