The Washington County Commanders (Springfield, KY) basketball knocked off the host Nelson County Cardinals (Bardstown, KY), 59-48 in Friday's league test.
The Commanders (6-0) will now prepare for their test against Newport (Newport, KY). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 6-1 record. In their last test, Newport notched a victory over Huntington Prep (Huntington, WV), 58-55, in a non-league test.
The Cardinals now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Civic Memorial for a non-league test on Thursday, December 28.
