Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA), 59-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Deep Creek upgrades its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Arcadia (Oak Hall, VA) to confront the Firebirds in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 16. The Firebirds come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. Arcadia won 57-52 in their recent non-league challenge against Broadwater Academy (Exmore, VA)

Next up, the Warriors confront the Norview Pilots (Norfolk, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. Nansemond River will attempt to improve on its 4-1 season record. The Pilots come into the challenge with a 3-0 record after their 58-44 non-league win over Granby (Norfolk, VA).
