DeKalb Barbs (DeKalb, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Waubonsie Valley Warriors (Aurora, IL), 54-45 in a league bout.

With the win, DeKalb upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Barbs host Sterling (Sterling, IL) to clash with the Golden Warriors in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 21. Next up, the Warriors clash with the Lockport Porters (Lockport, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 17. Waubonsie Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Porters go into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 52-44 non-league win over Lincoln-Way Central (New Lenox, IL).
