In their next game, the Warhorses face the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 42 game, on Monday, December 19. Owen will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 6-2 record after their 60-48 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC).

With the defeat, Mitchell moves to 2-4 on the year. The Mountaineers host Draughn (Valdese, NC) to confront the Wildcats in a 1A/2A Conference 42 battle on Tuesday, December 20. The Wildcats come into the battle with a record of 4-2. Draughn won 53-50 in their recent league battle against Avery County (Newland, NC)
