The Menchville Monarchs basketball team scored 62 points and limited the visiting Gloucester Dukes to 52 in the Monarchs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Monarchs now have a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Woodside for a Peninsula game on Thursday, December 19. Menchville will confront a Wolverines team coming off a 57-45 league win over Denbigh (Newport News, VA). The Wolverines record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Gloucester falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Dukes host Bethel (Hampton, VA) to confront the Bruins in a Peninsula game on Thursday, December 19. The Bruins go into the game with a record of 3-2. Bethel lost 56-47 in their recent league game against Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA)
