In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Menchville Monarchs basketball team scored a good 65-55 triumph over the Gloucester Dukes.
The Monarchs (4-13) will now prepare for their contest against Woodside (Newport News, VA). The Wolverines go into the Peninsula contest with a 17-1 record. In their last contest, Woodside topped Denbigh (Newport News, VA), 68-66, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Dukes battle the Bethel Bruins (Hampton, VA) in a Peninsula contest, on Thursday, February 6. Gloucester will attempt to better on its 2-15 season record. The Bruins go into the contest with a 7-8 record after their 56-52 league win over Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA).
