Nevada High School Basketball - Cimarron-Memorial succumbs to Canyon Springs

The Canyon Springs Pioneers topped the host Cimarron-Memorial Spartans basketball team by a final score of 40-21 in Monday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Pioneers face the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars (Henderson, NV) in a game, on Monday, January 8. Canyon Springs will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.
With the defeat, Cimarron-Memorial moves to 2-6 on the year. The Spartans travel to Shadow Ridge (Las Vegas, NV) to face the Mustangs in a game on Friday, January 5. The Mustangs enter the game with a record of 9-3.
First Quarter
The Spartans continued to struggle by turning the ball over, not boxing out, having zero communication, & not moving the basketball. Many of the players were frustrated & it was obvious from their body language that they weren't ready to play today after their Over Time Game vs. Legacy 2 nights previously.
Fourth Quarter
The Spartans picked up their defensive intensity in the 2nd half, but unfortunately not only was it too late, but the turn overs & bad shots continued to occur.
As a Team the Spartans had more Turnovers 29, than Total Shots 23.
