North Carolina High School Basketball - Martin County sneaks past Ayden - Grifton

The Martin County Gators (Williamston, NC) basketball edged the visiting Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC), 56-53 in Wednesday's non-league bout.

The Gators now possess a 3-1 record. They play next when they host Gates County for a 1A Four Rivers bout on Thursday, December 19. Martin County will play a Red Barons team coming off a 58-54 non-league win over Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC). The Red Barons record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Ayden - Grifton falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Farmville Central (Farmville, NC) to play the Jaguars in a 2A Eastern Plains bout on Friday, December 20. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 6-1. Farmville Central won 66-58 in their recent non-league bout against West Bladen (Bladenboro, NC)
