Venus Bulldogs (Venus, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Alvarado Indians (Alvarado, TX), 56-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Venus upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Orangefield (Orangefield, TX) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 16-1. Orangefield won 71-35 in their recent non-league bout against Fairview (Grant, LA)

Next up, the Indians play the Hillsboro Eagles (Hillsboro, TX) in a 4A Region II District 10 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Alvarado will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record.
