In Tuesday's league outing, the Canton Eagles (Canton, TX) basketball squad edged the visiting Athens Hornets (Athens, TX), by a margin of 37-36.
The Eagles (9-8) will now prepare for their outing against Burleson (Burleson, TX). The Elks go into the non-league outing with a 10-9 record.
The Hornets now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they host Cumberland Academy for a 4A Region II District 16 outing on Tuesday, January 2.
