Cave City Cavemen (Cave City, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 46-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cave City upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Cavemen travel to Batesville (Batesville, AR) to play the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 6-5. Batesville won 55-33 in their recent non-league bout against Newport (Newport, AR)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Salem Greyhounds (Salem, AR) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 62-60 non-league loss to Nettleton (Jonesboro, AR).
