The Mapleton Mounties (Ashland, OH) basketball nipped the visiting Monroeville Eagles (Monroeville, OH), 42-36 in Friday's league test.

The Mounties (1-2) will now prepare for their test against South Central (Greenwich, OH). The Trojans go into the Firelands test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, South Central got by Plymouth (Plymouth, OH), 50-43, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host St. Mary Central Catholic for a non-league outing on Thursday, December 8. Monroeville will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 65-22 league loss to Old Fort (Old Fort, OH). The Panthers record now stands at 0-4.
