The South Cougars basketball team scored 31 points and held the visiting Maize Eagles to 24 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cougars now sport a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Newton for a non-league contest on Friday, January 6. South will battle a Railroaders team coming off a 50-16 non-league loss to Eisenhower (Goddard, KS). The Railroaders record now stands at 2-4.

The Eagles (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against Andover Central (Andover, KS). The Jaguars enter the non-league contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Andover Central nudged Salina Central (Salina, KS), 48-30, in a league contest.
