Montville Mustangs (Montville, NJ) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Randolph Rams (Randolph, NJ), 44-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Montville upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Sparta (Sparta, NJ) to play the Spartans in a Northwest Jersey - National bout on Friday, December 22. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 1-3. Sparta lost 50-32 in their recent league bout against Pope John XXIII (Sparta, NJ)

Next up, the Rams play the Bayonne Bees (Bayonne, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Randolph will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
