In Friday's league contest, the visiting Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds basketball team scored a good 61-53 triumph over the Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs.

The Thunderbirds (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Springfield (Springfield, MN). The Tigers go into the A Section 2 contest with a 4-1 record.

In their next game, the Mustangs confront the Yellow Medicine East Sting (Granite Falls, MN) in a non-league contest, on Friday, December 27. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart will attempt to better on its 0-6 season record. The Sting go into the contest with a 1-5 record after their 69-53 league loss to Red Rock Central (Lamberton, MN).
