Kansas High School Basketball - Maize South held off by Derby

In Friday's league test, the Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) basketball squad got by the visiting Maize South Mavericks (Wichita, KS), by a score of 64-57.

Next, the Panthers encounter the South Cougars (Salina, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I test, on Friday, January 3. Derby will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Cougars come into the test with a 3-2 record after their 42-41 league win over Valley Center (Valley Center, KS).

The Mavericks (4-1) will now prepare for their test against Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS). The Salthawks come into the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I test with a 3-1 record. In their last test, Hutchinson was nipped by Arkansas City (Arkansas City, KS), 41-39, in a non-league test.
