Kansas High School Basketball - Derby nips Maize South

February 21, 2025: Wichita, KS 67205

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Derby Panthers (Derby, KS) and the host Maize South Mavericks (Wichita, KS), observed Derby's basketball team edge Maize South by a margin of 49-45.

The Panthers (15-3) will now prepare for their challenge against South (Salina, KS). The Cougars come into the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I challenge with a 10-8 record. In their last challenge, South edged Valley Center (Valley Center, KS), 38-31, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mavericks battle the Haysville Campus Colts (Wichita, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I challenge, on Tuesday, February 25. Maize South will attempt to better on its 15-3 season record. The Colts come into the challenge with a 3-15 record after their 47-43 league loss to Maize (Maize, KS).
