Villa Walsh Academy Vikings (Morristown, NJ) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Whippany Park Wildcats (Whippany, NJ), 53-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Villa Walsh Academy upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Vikings host Parsippany (Parsippany, NJ) to play the Redhawks in a non-league bout on Friday, December 23. The Redhawks go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Parsippany lost 31-29 in their recent non-league bout against Mountain Lakes (Mountain Lakes, NJ)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Dover Tigers (Dover, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 23. Whippany Park will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 47-11 league loss to Academy of St. Elizabeth (Convent Station, NJ).
