North Carolina High School Basketball - Newton-Conover thwarts Ashe County

December 21, 2023: Newton, NC 28658

The Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 56-47 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Red Devils (4-4) will now prepare for their test against Lincolnton (Lincolnton, NC). The Wolves go into the 2A Catawba Valley test with a 8-0 record.

The Huskies now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they host North Davidson for a non-league test on Thursday, December 28. Ashe County will encounter a Black Knights squad coming off a 71-50 non-league loss to Northern Guilford (Greensboro, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 7-3.
