North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashe County succumbs to Newton-Conover

December 7, 2023: West Jefferson, NC 28694

The Newton-Conover Red Devils topped the host Ashe County Huskies basketball team by a final score of 59-40 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Red Devils face the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league game, on Friday, December 8. Newton-Conover will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 0-4 record after their 67-47 non-league loss to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC).

With the defeat, Ashe County moves to 1-4 on the year. The Huskies host West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to face the Blackhawks in a non-league game on Friday, December 8. The Blackhawks enter the game with a record of 1-4. West Wilkes lost 58-47 in their recent non-league game against Starmount (Boonville, NC)
