Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS), 72-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newton upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Tigers travel to Forest (Forest, MS) to clash with the Bearcats in a non-league bout on Friday, December 22. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 5-7. Forest won 66-42 in their recent non-league bout against McComb (McComb, MS)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Kemper County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record.
