The Newton-Conover Red Devils basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Lincolnton Wolves to 40 in the Red Devils non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Red Devils now sport a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Burke for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 3. Newton-Conover will battle a Cavaliers team coming off a 42-35 non-league loss to Bandys (Catawba, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-6.

The Wolves (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Bandys (Catawba, NC). The Trojans enter the non-league contest with a 6-2 record. In their last contest, Bandys ran past East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC), 42-35, in a non-league contest.
