Albany Huskies (Albany, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Melrose Dutchmen (Melrose, MN), 55-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Albany upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Huskies host Sauk Rapids-Rice (Sauk Rapids, MN) to play the Storm in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Storm go into the bout with a record of 5-1. Sauk Rapids-Rice won 86-66 in their recent non-league bout against Becker (Becker, MN)

Next up, the Dutchmen play the Litchfield Dragons (Litchfield, MN) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 27. Melrose will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 58-53 league loss to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (Kerkhoven, MN).
