Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host New Hampton Chickasaws (New Hampton, IA), 69-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Charles City upgrades its record to 2-6 on the season. The Comets host Waukon (Waukon, IA) to play the Indians in a Northeast Iowa bout on Friday, January 5. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 3-3.

Next up, the Chickasaws play the Crestwood Cadets (Cresco, IA) in a Northeast Iowa bout, on Friday, January 5. New Hampton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Cadets go into the bout with a 1-8 record after their 77-58 league loss to Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA).
