Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting New Hampton Chickasaws (New Hampton, IA), 73-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Charles City upgrades its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Comets host Grand View Christian (Des Moines, IA) to encounter the Thunder in a non-league test on Saturday, February 3. The Thunder go into the test with a record of 10-7. Grand View Christian won 77-40 in their recent non-league test against West Marshall (State Center, IA)

The Chickasaws now own a 2-16 record. They play next when they travel to Columbus for a non-league test on Monday, February 5. New Hampton will encounter a Sailors squad coming off a 78-63 league loss to Jesup (Jesup, IA). The Sailors record now stands at 7-16.
