The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Oak Glen Golden Bears (New Cumberland, WV) and the host Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV), observed Oak Glen's basketball team edge Weir by a margin of 44-40.

The Golden Bears (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Steubenville (Steubenville, OH). The Big Red come into the non-league challenge with a 5-3 record.

In their next game, the Red Riders battle the North Marion Huskies (Farmington, WV) in a Big Ten challenge, on Thursday, January 2. Weir will attempt to better on its 3-5 season record.
