The Red Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 13-4. Coahoma County won 60-14 in their recent non-league challenge against Palmer (Marks, MS)

Next up, the Cubs confront the West Bolivar Eagles (Rosedale, MS) in a 1A Region 5 challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. Leland will attempt to improve on its 2-12 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 53-47 non-league loss to Shaw (Shaw, MS).
