Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the host Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), saw Alexander Central's basketball squad wallop Newton-Conover by a tally of 60-33.

With the victory, Alexander Central improves its record to 12-0 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Hickory (Hickory, NC) to confront the Red Tornadoes in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 28. The Red Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 5-3. Hickory won 47-39 in their recent non-league challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)

Next up, the Red Devils confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 28. Newton-Conover will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record.
