The West Middlesex Big Reds (West Middlesex, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Neshannock Lancers (New Castle, PA), 60-58 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Big Reds (3-1) will now prepare for their test against Farrell (Farrell, PA). The Steelers go into the District 10 Region 1 test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Farrell got by Meadville (Meadville, PA), 51-21, in a non-league test.
The Lancers now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Ellwood City for a WPIAL 3A 1 test on Tuesday, January 2. Neshannock will encounter a Wolverine squad coming off a 67-27 non-league win over Shenango (New Castle, PA). The Wolverine record now stands at 7-3.
