Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Cahokia Comanches (Cahokia, IL), 46-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Belleville West upgrades its record to 2-13 on the season. The Maroons travel to Belleville East (Belleville, IL) to clash with the Lancers in a Southwestern bout on Thursday, January 4. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 3-10. Belleville East lost 79-39 in their recent league bout against O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL)

Next up, the Comanches clash with the Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) in a South Seven bout, on Thursday, January 11. Cahokia will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record.
