Illinois High School Basketball - Edwards County nipped by Mt. Carmel

The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces tipped the visiting Edwards County Lions basketball team by a final score of 58-51 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Golden Aces face the Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) in a Little Illini game, on Thursday, January 4. Mt. Carmel will attempt to move on its 14-3 season record. The Tigers enter the game with a 7-8 record after their 55-52 non-league loss to Herrin (Herrin, IL).

With the defeat, Edwards County moves to 14-4 on the year. The Lions travel to Fairfield (Fairfield, IL) to face the Mules in a non-league game on Thursday, December 28. The Mules enter the game with a record of 7-13. Fairfield won 51-13 in their recent non-league game against Webber (Bluford, IL)
