West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Cedar Grove Panthers (Cedar Grove, NJ), 32-16 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Essex upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Knights host Livingston (Livingston, NJ) to play the Lancers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 0-4. Livingston lost 40-26 in their recent non-league bout against Morristown-Beard (Morristown, NJ)

Next up, the Panthers play the Bloomfield Bengals (Bloomfield, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Cedar Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Bengals go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 38-36 non-league loss to Paramus (Paramus, NJ).
