Texas High School Basketball - Sharpstown can't hold off Austin

The Austin Mustangs basketball team scored 66 points and held the host Sharpstown Apollos to 61 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 6-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lamar for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Austin will battle a Texans team coming off a 67-61 non-league win over Episcopal (Bellaire, TX). The Texans record now stands at 12-8.

The Apollos (4-15) will now prepare for their contest against Madison (Houston, TX). The Marlins enter the non-league contest with a 10-7 record. In their last contest, Madison nudged Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men (Houston, TX), 65-63, in a non-league contest.
